Valid from 15/06/2020 to 16/09/2020
Great and exciting “Ring Tour”, with departure and arrival in Alleghe developed on stages at high altitude and always includes overnight stays in a different typical mountain hut.
You cross an important and very varied Dolomite area, touching famous mountain groups such as the Cristallo group, the Tofane peak, Mondeval, the Cinque Torri, the Averau and the Nuvolau. This tour starts on Monday and ends on Friday.
The overnight stay on Tuesday will be in Alleghe to start the tour remarried the following day.
Experience nature, immersing yourself in wonderful landscapes rich in mountain pastures, green and unspoiled forests and above all always in the presence of the legendary Dolomites that thanks to their beauty have been declared Unesco World Heritage.
Lake Alleghe will welcome you at the beginning of this BikeSafari. We climb up to Piani di Pezzè leaving the artificial lake on the left and we arrive at Forcella Alleghe The brow from the fork is, as always, exciting and full of surprises, not only for those who pass through it for the first time to reach the Rifugio Col dei Baldi.
Start the descent towards Pescul, Città di Fiume Refuge at the foot of Mount Pelmo, to continue to San Vito di Cadore. This valuable wetland is of considerable naturalistic interest. We cross an important and very varied Dolomite area, touching famous mountain groups such as the Pelmo, Mondeval, Croda da Lago.
In all this area it is easy to see marmots that run in the meadows around their lair. Once in San Vito di Cadore the group will stop for the after-bike and overnight stay.
The following morning we continue to Cortina d’Ampezzo, the Pearl of the Dolomites which will offer the most beautiful view of the most spectacular peaks belonging to the Cristallo group. The summit of the Tofane and the Fanes group will attract attention.
We arrive at the top of the Forcella Ambrizzola, one of the most panoramic forks in the Alps: on one side you can admire Pelmo, Civetta, Piz del Corvo, Corvo Alto and Marmolada, on the other the peaks to the east of the Ampezzo valley like the Cristallo and the Antelao (the second highest peak in the Dolomites). The majestic bell tower of Cortina also stands out in the panorama. A beautiful itinerary that takes place partly on military roads prepared during the First World War to climb to the outposts of the Croda Rossa and Croda del Béco. The environment traversed is of great landscape and environmental value, taking the path all within the Natural Park of the Ampezzo Dolomites.
Our expert guide will take you through a well-designed route to where you will stop for the after-bike and overnight stay.
The day will take you on a saddle to discover an itinerary of great environmental, landscape and historical interest. You cross an important and very varied Dolomite area, touching famous mountain groups such as the Mondeval, the Croda da Lago, the Cinque Torri, the Averau and the Nuvolau. We then pass from the famous Mesolithic burial site of Mondeval, a huge boulder under which the remains of the Man of Mondevàl, progenitor of the current inhabitants of Ampezzano and del Cadore, were found, crossing one of the most strategically important areas during the first world war.
In fact, the Nuvolau – Averau – Cinque Torri Dolomites massif still bears the clear signs of the war. Barracks, trenches, caves, shelters, artillery posts, roads and whatever else was necessary to fight and move armies in the high mountains (a tour around the Cinque Torri was arranged to visit the war zones). The proposed MTB ring is quite challenging, running for long stretches on mountain trails, sometimes impeded and facing a considerable overall height difference.
Our guides will be able to manage the route adapting it to the group’s training. The day ends at 5 Torri.
After breakfast in the saddle for our last day together. The long and fun descent begins with several highlights. The environment changes from the lunar passage at high altitude to the green alpine pastures and along paths that cross woods up to Alleghe in the early afternoon.
If you wish, you can extend your one-night stay to rest before returning home.
The magical atmosphere of the evening in the alpine huts: the welcome made of simple things like a hot soup and a glass of wine, will win you over with a special evening, made up of stories to listen to and experiences to share. Our team is formed by a close-knit group of qualified professionals who have a single common goal: to make our territory known, appreciated and appreciated.
